30% of Maryland COVID deaths are among fully vaccinated
Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in Maryland have been among people who are unvaccinated, but as the percentage of fully vaccinated residents in the state grows, fully vaccinated residents are making up a higher percentage of all people dying from the disease in the state.
Andy Owen, a spokesperson for the Maryland Department of Health, said that from Sept. 1 to Oct. 15, about 30% of Marylanders who died of confirmed COVID-19 were fully vaccinated. Many had other health issues that made them more vulnerable.
Washington sees fallout from state worker vaccine mandate
More than 1,800 Washington state workers have been fired, resigned or retired because of the state’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate, according to data released Tuesday. The latest numbers released by the governor’s Office of Financial Management show that about 3% of the state’s approximately 63,000-person workforce that was covered by the mandate have left their jobs, and the cases of another 4.6% – or 2,887 – are pending because they are either in the process of receiving a job accommodation, are planning to retire, are getting vaccinated or are awaiting separation from their agency.
Of the 1,887 who are no longer employed, 1,696 were fired, 112 resigned and 79 retired.
COVID-19疫苗接種後最年輕死者 23歲妙齡女無慢性病打AZ18天後死亡
中央流行疫情指揮中心今天公布，國內增12件接種新冠肺炎（COVID-19，2019冠狀病毒疾病）疫苗後死亡事件，其中1名無慢性病史的23歲女性施打AZ疫苗18天後死亡，經司法相驗發現個案出現雙肺水腫、右心室擴張，死因與疫苗關聯性仍待釐清。這也是國內接種COVID-19疫苗後最年輕死者。
指揮中心發言人莊人祥今天下午接受媒體聯訪表示，10月20日新增119例COVID-19疫苗接種後不良事件，其中12名接種疫苗後死亡，分別為8例AZ疫苗、3例為莫德納疫苗及1例BNT疫苗。其中新增的AZ疫苗接種後發生死亡不良事件，年齡為23歲至89歲間，為接種疫苗後4日至83日間發生；莊人祥證實，接種AZ疫苗後發生死亡不良事件的23歲女性，是台灣截至目前最年輕施打COVID-19疫苗後死亡個案。
莊人祥說明，根據報告顯示，這名23歲女性個案沒有慢性病史，今年9月10日接種第1劑AZ疫苗，當天返家沒有出現不適症狀，直到9月29日被家人發現倒臥床邊，當下個案已無呼吸心跳，送醫不治。他說，這名接種疫苗後死亡女性個案已於10月7日完成司法相驗，發現個案出現雙肺水腫、右心室擴張，與疫苗關聯性仍待釐清，衛生局將協助家屬申請預防接種受害救濟。
至於其餘新增的3例莫德納疫苗接種後發生死亡不良事件，年齡為70歲至80歲間，為接種疫苗後6日至25日間發生；新增1例BNT 疫苗接種後發生死亡不良事件，年齡為45歲，為接種疫苗後3日發生。另外，高端疫苗20日沒有新增接種後發生死亡不良事件。
據指揮中心統計資料，截至目前國內累計925例COVID-19疫苗接種後發生死亡不良事件，其中有685例為接種AZ疫苗，有205例為接種莫德納疫苗，有27例為接種高端疫苗，有8例為接種BNT疫苗。
今本土確診及死亡都+0 添2例境外移入 1人接種三劑BNT仍突破性感染
中央流行疫情指揮中心今天公布國內新增2例境外移入COVID-19確定病例，自美國（案16458）、緬甸（案16459）入境，其中美國境外移入病例接種三劑BNT疫苗仍突破性感染；
另確診個案中無新增死亡。
指揮中心發言人莊人祥今天說明，新增的COVID-19（2019冠狀病毒疾病）境外移入個案，案16458為本國籍20多歲女性，10月6日持搭機前3日內檢驗陰性報告自美國返台，於機場採檢陰性後至防疫旅館居家檢疫。
莊人祥表示，案16458於10月17日自覺房間空調較冷有出現咳嗽症狀，10月19日進行檢疫期滿前採檢，今天確診。此案Ct值為36；衛生單位匡列接觸者1人，列自我健康監測。
指揮中心醫療應變組副組長羅一鈞指出，案16458在美國期間於7至9月接種三劑BNT疫苗，符合突破性感染定義。莊人祥進一步說明，目前國際間部片認為加強劑應與第2劑間隔6個月以上施打較有效果，但案16458第3劑BNT疫苗接種僅與第2劑BNT疫苗間隔一個月。
另外，案16459為本國籍60多歲男性，長期居住於緬甸，9月24日持搭機前3日內檢驗陰性證明自緬甸返台，於集中檢疫所進行居家檢疫，10月7日因同行者（案16393）檢驗陽性，轉列居家隔離對象。
莊人祥說，案16459持續於集中檢疫所進行隔離，10月20日進行隔離期滿前採檢，於今天確診；個案在台期間並無症狀，已匡列接觸者1人，列居家隔離。這名個案沒有COVID-19疫苗接種史。
指揮中心統計，截至目前國內累計3,801,349例新型冠狀病毒肺炎相關通報（含3,783,802例排除），其中16,349例確診，分別為1,710例境外移入，14,585例本土病例，36例敦睦艦隊、3例航空器感染、1例不明及14例調查中；另累計110例移除為空號。2020年起累計846例COVID-19死亡病例，其中834例本土，個案居住縣市分布為新北市412例、台北市319例、基隆市29例、桃園市27例、彰化縣15例、新竹縣13例、台中市5例、苗栗縣3例、宜蘭縣及花蓮縣各2例，新竹市、南投縣、雲林縣、台南市、高雄市、屏東縣及台東縣各1例；另12例為境外移入。

Morocco bans UK flights due to rising Covid case rates
Morocco is banning flights to and from the UK due to rising coronavirus case rates.
Airlines cancelled several flights between the countries on Wednesday ahead of the suspension coming into effect at 11.59pm.
Latest figures from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control show that the North African nation’s weekly rate of reported coronavirus cases on October 14 stood at just 10.4 per 100,000 people.
The current rate in the UK is 445.5 per 100,000 people.
EasyJet, which cancelled a flight from Gatwick to Marrakech on Wednesday, told passengers: “As we’ll be unable to fly to Morocco in order to operate any return flights after today, we’ve taken the decision to cancel your flight with us today.”
British Airways cancelled a flight from Heathrow to the same destination.
The flight ban will affect families in England and Wales who booked half-term holidays in Morocco for next week.
Morocco’s National Office of Airports said the policy will remain in place “until further notice”.
The country is also banning flights to and from Germany and the Netherlands.

指揮中心表示，今日新增2例本土個案中，案16461為印尼籍30多歲女性，長期在臺工作，今(2021)年10月20日因工作需求進行採檢，於今日確診(Ct值33，住院後採檢之核酸檢驗陰性、血清抗體陽性)；已匡列接觸者7人，均列居家隔離。案16462為本國籍50多歲女性，10月20日因有陪病需求進行採檢，同日亦有全身倦怠症狀，於今日確診(Ct值33.2，住院後採檢之核酸檢驗陰性、血清抗體陽性)；已匡列接觸者10人，均列居家隔離。衛生單位將持續進行疫情調查及防治工作，以釐清感染源。
指揮中心說明，今日新增6例境外移入個案，為2例男性、4例女性，年齡介於10多歲至60多歲，分別自緬甸(案16460)、印尼(案16463)、泰國(案16464)、馬來西亞(2例，案16465、案16466)及南非(案16467)入境，入境日介於10月7日至10月20日，皆持有搭機前3日內檢驗陰性報告；詳如新聞稿附件。

指揮中心說明，今日新增7例境外移入個案，為5例男性、2例女性，年齡介於10多歲至60多歲，分別自美國(案16468)、賽普勒斯(案16469)、馬來西亞(2例，案16470、16473)、印尼(案16471)、柬埔寨(案16472)、蒙古(案16474)入境，入境日介於今(2021)年10月10日至10月21日，皆持有搭機前3日內檢驗陰性報告；詳如新聞稿附件。
