"The recommended settings for any soundbar comes down to the dimensions of your room. In my case, I use my HW-950A in a moderately-sized square room, with a 9-feet ceiling with these following settings:
AUTO EQ: ON
AVA: OFF
TREBLE: 0
BASS: 2
SYNC: 0
CENTER LEVEL: 3
SIDE LEVEL: -1
WIDE LEVEL: -2
FRONT TOP LEVEL: -1
REAR LEVEL: -2
REAR SIDE LEVEL: -2
REAR TOP LEVEL: -1
VIRTUAL: OFF
SW: 2
P.S. Rtings states that the BASS level at +2 allows the audio to appear more on the neutral side. However, the folks over at AVForums believe that the soundbar is a bit too "bass heavy," so they recommend putting it at -4. Ultimately, the choice is yours (just like I put the Subwoofer volume to be +2, but your mileage may vary, depending on your living situations and neighbors and such.)
So far, the 360 audio sounds immersive, since all the speakers sound balanced (without one being too louder than the other; vice versa). Also, I set the 950A to be on "STANDARD" mode, since all the other modes takes away the magic on how the content was created. The reason being is because APDATIVE, SURROUND, and GAME PRO all upmixes the audio to play throughout all the speakers, and it just sounds weird to me... Although, if you're interested in listening to music, then GAME PRO is the most preferred mode by a lot of people, because of the way that it comes out (if that makes sense).
With this in mind, here are the EQ settings that I use for "STANDARD" mode (Kudos to Planetary Reference, over at AVForums, for sharing):
150 Hz: +5
300 Hz: +3
600 Hz: +2
1.2 kHz: +1
2.5 kHz: +3
5 kHz: +5
10 kHz: +3
Hope you find this information to be useful; cheers!"
