Not really MC QS can be conversant with contract. It depends on the culture of the company. I have interviewed a lot of candidates from both consulting companies and contractors and have passed some of them. The weakness of candidates from contractor background is the lag of pre-contract and cost planning exposures. While candidates from consulting company background is weak in practical solution of problems.
