The market is not very bad. I now mainly do litigation and arbitration work. If there is infrastructure being build there will be demand for staff

hi there sir would you provide any advice for a bs towards arbitration. for my understanding bs does not handle as much contractual issues as qs does. at the same time i have seen so many qs ppl holding the title of qualified arbitrator. is that rather a qs thing？

i am just a starter in this industry and apparently i dont know much of it.

Unlike the old days you need to take CIArb exams to get their qualifications. As correctly mentioned QS has far more exposure than BS on contract and law topics thus you will find some arbitrators are QS. Most BS ended up being an expert providing evidence in court cases and arbitrations.

I am from the older generation. I take the Final and TPC the predecessor of APC. I do not need to attending professional interview if I pass only borderline cases need to attend an interview.

Firstly your contract law has to be very good. You must have a thorough understanding of the standard forms.

Secondly cost estimating and cost planning is also a very frequently asked topic.

Also use a lot of common sense in answering questions.

Do not try to distract the assessor by giving vague answers. If you do not know the question just say so.

speed award HKIS 認唔認? 係咪都係簽2年就可以去考牌

行內對speed 有咩睇法 對比返 cem

另外我今年grad 入唔返UGC 應該揀speed FT 定做一年野 再用工作經驗入返cityu/poly

i bet you would rather pass the candidate unless they are literally not competent enough. coz a couple of follow up documents must be done within the short time by assessors like the referral report

Simple, attain the levels as required by the institution and conduct befit of a chartered surveyor.
