準確點說，不干預是實際不出手干預，卻可能保留了隨其意志而出手干預的權力。相反，不宰制是要放棄隨其意志而出手干預的權力。舉例說，一個受主人所寵愛的奴僕，他想要甚麼他的主人都給予，主人甚至完全不干預他的喜好與生活。因此，這個奴僕已經算享有了不受干預的自由。不過，所有人都知道，一旦他的主人改變心意，他的一切都可以被收回。因此，他其實從來沒有享受過不受宰制的自由。

有啲學者覺得Pettit佢嗰套對共和主義嘅理解唔夠激進，仲有好大發展潛力
於是就有呢本書

本書有十章，分成五個部分
第一部分 係重新檢視「宰制」呢嗰概念，睇下可以點樣挖深啲
第二部分 睇下古代嘅激進共和主義者 可以爲現代自由民主憲政體制 提供乜嘢 制度設計嘅新意
第三部分 睇下以前嘅共和主義者 喺社會抗爭上，有乜嘢值得借鑑
第四部分 睇下共和主義同社會主義嘅思想繼承
第五部分 講下啲被主流論述遺忘嘅共和主義歷史

我個人覺得chapter 1 最難明，但係作者Dorothea Gädeke對「宰制」嘅剖析鞭辟入裏，睇完最有得着（尤其是如果本身有睇過Pettit講共和主義嘅文）

好多年前買咗三本裝，到而家先睇咗一本

有咩評價？
我未睇，不過𥅈過吓內容簡介同目錄，都大約估到講乜嘢

因為其實好多觀點並非佢首創，歷史學界都早有討論，只不過佢混入大量佢自己嘅睇法、主張重新整合、包裝而已

唔知佢呢本有冇bibliography，不過覺得佢可以試下係美國撈個大學教職(始終有個格式方便佢出學術著作、同增強學術影響力)，同寫書時係bibliography寫返有邊啲近人著作(secondary source)啟發佢，依家佢啲註腳九成都係primary source嚟嘅，但寫一本時間時間誇度長嘅通史性質嘅書好難冇參考secondary source喎，最好俾返個credit嗰啲著作，同時等有興趣嘅讀者可以follow

我未睇本書，不過打算遲啲有時間會睇，總之睇之前佢比我嘅印象就係咁啦立場咁鮮明咁反大一統嘅著作真係罕見，應該要離開咗中國先有可以出到

ps. bibliography嗰到並非針對佢，而係好多商業出版社中文書都有嘅通弊，通俗讀物唔緊要，但如果係學術著作嘅話就最好加返bb

睇到中間好想棄

唔少人都有插，歐美個邊，多數係插佢觀念簡陋，意識型態、情緒含量多於討論事實

所以講大歷史我都係推薦翻人睇David Christian，科學啲實在啲

唔止哲學人插啦，講真邊有可能一個人同時精通歷史、哲學、經濟、心理學、生物學等知識，不過作為一本科普讀物要做到有趣味而唔會太多錯誤，的確唔容易，呢本書都算合格有餘
