新到埗-when?
did you work in 2022 and what was your gross earned income
CRA account嘅稅務居民有無RRSP嘅上限- wrong.
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/rrsps-related-plans/contributing-a-rrsp-prpp/contributions-affect-your-rrsp-prpp-deduction-limit.html
How is your RRSP deduction limit determined?
The Canada Revenue Agency generally calculates your RRSP deduction limit as follows:

your unused RRSP deduction room at the end of the preceding year
Plus

The lesser of the two following items:
18% of your earned income in the previous year
the annual RRSP limit (for 2022, the annual limit is $29,210)
That exceeds one of the following items:
your pension adjustment (PA)
your prescribed amount for connected persons
Plus

your pension adjustments reversal (PAR)
Minus

your net past service pension adjustment (PSPA)
If you want to calculate your RRSP deduction limit yourself, see chart 3 of Guide T4040, RRSPs and Other Registered Plans for Retirement.

Penalty for Over-Contributing to an RRSP
If you end up with an RRSP over contribution in excess of the $2,000 buffer, you may owe taxes. The CRA will charge you a 1 percent penalty, assessed monthly, for each month you‘re over the limit.

You have to meet all the requirements
Staying in Canada for certain days within 5 years (you can check) tac returns filing requirements and don't get in trouble with the law(not sure what the threshold is). You have to study certain basic knowledge about Canada such as how many Provinces and Territories, political parties capital of Canada. I was given a book to study. I didn't think it was difficult.

入籍試一定係用英/法文考嗎?
題目會唔會成日唔同 隨機咁出

There is no reason to stop you from becoming a citizen. If they consider you have not meet their requirements, you may not go that far in the process.

Freelance Taxes in Canada: 9 Things You Need to Know

Emily Verrecchia
September 26, 2022
Updated for tax year 2022
Income you earn as a freelancer is taxable, and it’s vital to track this income as well as expenses
Being self-employed allows you to claim business deductions for things like your home office, business travel, meals, and office supplies and equipment

You need to register for a GST/HST number if you earn over $30,000 per year from self-employed business activities
• There’s no employer to withhold taxes from your pay. Instead, you may make your own quarterly estimated tax payments.

• You can deduct expenses related to your work such as vehicle expenses, home office costs, supplies, etc.
If you earn $60,000 from your full-time job and $20,000 from your freelance role in a tax year, only the dollars you earn above $75,001 are taxed at 30%. Your first $75,000 is taxed at 25%. We call this the marginal tax rate.

Make sure to take advantage of your RRSP account and business expenses to reduce your tax bill.

2. Is freelance income taxable?
As long as you’re providing a service or selling a product with an expectation of profit, you’re considered self-employed. This means on top of completing your standard personal tax forms, you’re legally required to report your self-employment income and expenses to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

you have to register for HST if your income exceed $30,000 and you get input tax credits for eligible expenses for business.

You must remit income tax instalments because your income tax should exceed $3,000.

Required tax instalments for individuals

Paying instalments for corporations

Tax instalments are payments you make throughout the year to cover the taxes you normally pay in one lump sum on April 30 of the following year. You pay these instalments during the year while you are earning the income, similar to how an employer deducts tax directly from each pay period.

You may have to pay tax instalments for next year's taxes, if your net tax owing is more than $3,000 (for Quebec $1,800) for 2023 and in either 2022 or 2021.

Tax instalment payments are due by the following dates (except farmers and fishers who have one due date on December 31):

March 15 June 15 September 15 December 15

Don't provide photo copies unless requested by government such as Service Canada etc.
Some landlord may request you SIN number to check your credit. I am not up to date on rental market. Ask people in the life in Toronto post.
Be very careful when renting. There have been numerous cases of rental fraud where crooks pretended to be the landlord and scam your first and last month's rent. Some landlord may request upfront rent.
