In monitor’s OSD, go into the color > preset section and change the preset mode away from “Color Space > sRGB”. I recommend “Color Temp > 6500K”. This will make the display more saturated, this saturation is haphazard and wrong and we are going to fix it in the next step. There is also a “Color Space > DCI-P3” option, but I do NOT recommend you use it for this. It uses the actual and proper DCI-P3 gamma curve, rather than the sRGB transfer function common to most consumer-level P3 displays, including your Mac’s internal screen.
Open System Preferences > Display, and go to the “Color” tab for the U2720Q. There is some default profile either with a generic name like “Display” or maybe it says “Dell U2720Q”. In any case, that’s a generic sRGB profile and we don’t want it. Uncheck “Show profiles for this display only”. A bunch of generic color space ICCs will show up, find the one labeled “Display P3” and select it.
