For those of you who were born in Hong Kong and received British Citizenship via descent wishing to return to settle in the UK, there are a number of things you may want to know -
1) As a British Citizen returning to the UK to settle, you are entitle to National Health Service (NHS) as soon as you are in the UK.
2) You can get social welfare benefits in the UK once you meet the habitual residence test. This usually means that you have lived in the UK for three months or more.

3) You should get a National Insurance Number (NI number) as soon as you arrived in the UK.

4) You can exchange your Hong Kong driving licence to an UK one without test if you passed your driving test in Hong Kong.
