Park Seong-hoon, the youngest son with two older sisters, was born on February 18, 1985, in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do. He is from a rich family where his father owns a famous law firm and most of his family members were educated from prestigious schools including Law and Medical Schools. Despite attending Gwacheon Foreign Language High School(International School), a special-purpose high school, he did not find much interest in studying. It was only during his third year of high school that he began contemplating his future career path. This led him to enroll in Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts, majoring in acting and film, as he had always been fond of movies.
He started his acting career with a small role in the film A Frozen Flower (2008), Park began to attract attention with supporting roles in SBS' Three Days (2014), Six Flying Dragons (2015–2016) and Don't Dare to Dream (2016). It was through the film Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018) and KBS 2TV's My Only One (2018 –2019) that he stepped up as a leading role. He is best known for his roles in the drama The Glory (2022–2023) and Queen of Tears (2024).

Senior actor, Kim Gapsoo, especially sent a message full of praise to #KimSoohyun right after the early episodes of #QueenOfTears aired.‼️☺️
“I sent a message to Soohyun after watching episodes 1 and 2. I told him, ‘Soohyun, you’re really good. You’re the top among those your age.’ He’s really good. This drama might look simple, but it’s actually quite complex. It could have been a heavy drama, but the writer wrote it humorously, and the actors are weaving it together well without making it feel heavy. In that sense, it’s written really well, and I told Soohyun that he’s doing great. I think this guy will lead our country’s works in the future.”
He also fondly remembered the scenes where he playfully bickered with his son-in-law Baek Hyunwoo (played by Kim Soohyun) at the hunting ground.
“There’s a scene where I tease Kim Soohyun, asking if he even knows how to shoot a gun. I remember his awkward expression at that time. Soohyun got teased a lot by me in this drama,” he said with a hearty laugh.
“Kim Soohyun’s acting is beyond words. He’s always been good, but this time he was especially great. He managed complex roles well, like a husband dreaming of divorce and facing his wife’s death, beyond just a simple romance. I thought it might be forced, but Soohyun did it so well. So I texted him, ‘Soohyun, you’re really good. You’re the top among young actors.’ And he replied, ‘Thank you, sir!!! ㅎㅎㅎㅎ.’”
