南韓媒體報導，原定11月11日至14日在朝鮮半島東部海域公海舉行，由3艘美海軍航空母艦為主的韓美日3國聯合軍演，已經改為美日、美韓各自聯合演訓。

南韓媒體引述南韓政府消息人士的分析指出，在南韓與中國就薩德反飛彈系統問題剛剛緩和，並決定舉行韓中高峰會談之際，南韓不願參與原先計劃的美日韓海上聯合軍事演習，應是為符合韓中先前達成「韓美日安保合作不會發展成軍事同盟」的協議，所採取的措施。

南韓「中央日報」今天報導，南韓政府消息人士透露，南韓不願參與原計劃的3艘航艦韓美日海軍聯合軍事演習。

南韓國防部發言人文尚均也明確表示：「南韓沒有參加韓美日3國聯合軍事演習的計畫。」但並未解釋理由。

南韓與中國於10月30日就紓緩薩德問題的矛盾達成共識，南韓似乎不願捲入與美、日、甚至印度聯手對抗中國大陸的策略。

What about David Davis, the Brexit Secretary? If he managed to get a reasonable deal with the EU on Brexit, it would not be difficult for him to get the support from both the Brexit and Remain supporters within the Tory party.

He has (in my view) two advantages -

1) his age - his is now 68 years old - which means that he will not be there for long - acceptable to the younger wings of the party.

2) his background - coming from a working class family (single parent family) and went to a state school and non Oxbridge university - unlike the David Cameron or May.

Amber Rudd - don't know whether it is a good idea. She only managed to hold on to her own seat at Hastings by less than 350 votes in this year's general election. If she becomes the new Tory lead, the Labour party will work very hard to unseat her. You don't want winning a general election but with your leader losing her own seat.

Another senator could fall victim to the ongoing citizenship crisis within 24 hours, with Tasmanian independent Jacqui Lambie awaiting urgent advice from British authorities as to whether she is a dual citizen.

Senator Lambie told Fairfax Media she had sought urgent advice last week as to whether she holds dual citizenship, and said she will resign from the Senate immediately if that is confirmed.

Fraser Anning denies defecting from One Nation

There’s been yet another twist in the Senate saga of newly minted senator Fraser Anning. Anning was sworn in this morning as a One Nation senator. Within hours, Pauline Hanson claimed that he had defected from the party.

Anning has disputed that version of events. He says he was kicked out of the party without notice.

The employment by Anning of former staff of Malcolm Roberts seems to be at the centre of the dispute.

Anning said he tried to bring his staff into a party room this morning, but was denied. He was then “verbally attacked” in the meeting. The attack was “so vitriolic that I was obliged to simply walk out”.
