Set up the machine so you can get to full stretch in the targeted muscle without bottoming out the weight if you can, and then don't let the weight rest during the set.
No you don't want to let the stack touch / bottom out, as you remove tension on the muscle in the stretch by doing this, so stop slightly shy of the stack touching the machine!
