The longest I have to wait was about 6 weeks for body check. You book it with your family doctor.
Specialist is another story. Some have to wait a few months, surgery depending on urgency. Elective or non life threatening will take long. However wuhan virus had threw a money ranch into the health care system.
If you are coming here as a PR or student, I suggest you to buy travel health insurance at least until you qualify for Provincial health insurance or Health insurance from Student body.

You should read the "Fishing in Ontario" guide.
A fishing license is required for resident between 18 to 65. The are opening seasons for different fish and limit on the size and number of fish you can take in one day etc. There are places where fishing are prohibited during certain time of the year.
My favorite fishing spots are in Peterborough area, Honey Harbour area, Midland area, Lake Simcoe and along Trent canal. Dorset and Algonauin park area.

Most of the places I mentioned are between 1 to 2.5 hours driving one way. Dorset has the largest Small mouth bass, Honey Harbour and Midland (Penatangushine (?))are haven for crappie.

Hi uncle,
any chance you would know the possibility in landing a job in urban planning in Canada?

Hi, uncle, I am ready to go to Canada. Could you advise some Canada forums like lihkg to let me know more about Canadian culture and accustomed to using ‘Canada English’?

I am not familiar with your field.
If you want to be a planner in Canada, you should consider taking some courses to meet their requirement.

Pacific Rim - Ring of Fire
https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/ring-fire/print/
Ring of Fire
The Ring of Fire, also referred to as the Circum-Pacific Belt, is a path along the Pacific Ocean characterized by active volcanoes and frequent earthquakes. The majority of Earth’s volcanoes and earthquakes take place along the Ring of Fire.

https://www.seatoskyair.ca/volcanoes/is-there-a-volcano-in-vancouver-heres-the-answer#:~:text=But%20Vancouver%20is%20in%20volcano,the%20last%2029%20millions%20years.

The last volcano to erupt in the Cascade Range was Mount Saint Helens in Washington, in the United States in 1980. While there hasn’t been an eruption in BC in recent history “Is there a volcano in Vancouver?” is still frequently Googled by residents and visitors to the Sea To Sky region. Here’s the answer, and it might not be exactly what you expected.

You may (or may not) be disappointed to hear that there are no volcanos in the City of Vancouver – phew, sort of.

But Vancouver is in volcano-country. The Cascade Range (also known as the Cascade Mountains) which makes up part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, is a 1,300 km chain of volcanoes extending from California to southern British Columbia that has been erupting in intervals for around the last 29 millions years.
