你哋好，我拎working holiday visa嚟咗倫敦啱啱一個月，食住都還好，撞啱呢段時間又好太陽唔係成日落雨，但最擔心係搵工嗰part。

我想問呢邊由send cv到interview,到最後通知offer/ no offer大約個時間係幾耐？我主要係搵office工，marketing agency嗰類，上星期有去過一間面試同做咗份test, 另外都有一兩間打嚟做phone interview，但我擔心唔知仲要等幾耐

I got both. But Bno is expired and not sure if its enough time for me to renew it b4 they help me to work on tier2 (hr said 2 mths)....

You should renew your BN(O) passport now using the link below -

If you apply now and your case in not complex - i.e. you still have your old BN(O) passport, then the turnaround time is about 2 weeks. There is a post on how to renew your BN(O) passport in the travel section.

You then use your BN(O) passport to apply for your UK tier 2 visa, which means that you will be treated as a Commonwealth citizen in the UK. Using your BN(O) status in the UK have the following advantages -

1) register to vote in all UK elections - also helps you to build up your credit history in the UK.

These advantages are not great enough to justify paying money to get BNO renewal

Paying £180 just for right to vote and abstention from police registration is not attractive enough for me

Where you get the £180 from?

A standard 32 page British passport cost £102.86 - including the courier fee.

The other brother said 180£. You need to pay for the passport as well as the application fee

The £102.86 is the Overseas British passport application fee which includes - your new British passport and courier fees to return your new British passport and supporting documents back to you in Hong Kong.

You will need to pay your own postage to send your supporting documents to HMPO in Liverpool. Unless you sent the documents by DHL, I don't think you will need to pay an arm and a leg for this.

2) i have my driving license in HK n I have to exchange it in UK ? Can i do it in Hk?

You will also need to get a certificate from the Hong Kong Department of Transport to say that your Hong Kong licence is based on the fact that you pass your driving test in Hong Kong. As far as I know that you will need to fill in TD320 in order to get the proof you need.

You will need to ask the Transport Department how long that certificate is valid for and how much it costs.

As the Hong Kong driving licence does not have a photo of the holder, you may find it helpful to get an International Driving Permit from the Hong Kong Transport Department before coming to the UK.

Btw, are you familiar with the agency performing background, credit check?
Like my case (resigned current role n going to work in a new job in HK until t2 visa is granted and i will resign again). And in whole interview of job in UK, I am really working in my current firm.

if the UK firm hire an agency to do background check, can they really able to check i started a new work during the visa process? (As HKIRD, mpf cant disclose my information to other parties)

You have every right to work in Hong Kong before your UK job starts. If you were asked about your current job, all you can say is that you need to earn a living while you are waiting for your tier 2 visa.

我果陣搵本行搵左個幾月都冇回音就鳩搵餐廳/sales做住先
最後隔左大半年有多先有agent打番比我in然後就轉左工
不過你marketing應該易過我，我果行行頭好窄

我果陣搵本行搵左個幾月都冇回音就鳩搵餐廳/sales做住先
最後隔左大半年有多先有agent打番比我in然後就轉左工
不過你marketing應該易過我，我果行行頭好窄

我都唔敢只搵本行，都有去啲retail派CV嘅，希望有回音
