I am currently a final year student in University of Birmingham, doing Urban Planning and Economics. to be honest the planning course in Birmingham is quite good and well structured. Work load is not too intense and everything we learn is quite piratical. In final year, we have a module is going to the private firms like JLL, Arup, Savills or the City Council for a term time placement, which is quite good for CV building and have a glimpse of how these planning institution works. Tutor is quite good and friendly, really helpful for my dissertation.
I am currently holding a conditional offer from HKU Master of Real Estate for the year of 17-18. Hope my information helps lahhhh. Good luck to everyone and welcome to answer any question about University of Birmingham and urban planning
