睇到我想訓

聽到呢個名就激氣

politics嘢我唔識唔敢評論，但係佢ling嘅theory真係

淨係睇英文同埋少少其他語言就話搵到language universal，被人發現apply唔到落其他語言嘅時候又會加啲unobservable落個model道保護返原本個universal，換句話講即係佢講晒

最弊係用自己語感當empirical data，即係用埋啲poor quality data去做theory，仲要話人哋用corpus冇用

如果佢初初成名嗰陣都叫做講得通，始終個陣資訊冇咁發達，stat嘅categorical data analysis發展又未完善

但而家big data年代，要collect data話咁易，而且stat發展得好快之餘仲有ml，佢都仲係話corpus，stat冇用就真係好大問題

仲有佢ignore語言嘅歷史發展，令到本身可以用historical角度解釋嘅嘢無人理；設下autonomy of sytax呢個無理假設，仲expect人哋跟佢；data或者theory有問題佢就賴competence performance distinction...

當然唔可以抹煞佢早期對呢個field嘅重要貢獻，但係overall佢真係拖慢咗學科嘅進展

同埋本身 formal semantics都算 out out哋(個人觀感)，讀呢啲冇乜前途

做 semantics最好都係 cognitive 或者搞 generative lexicon之類嘅 computational lexical semantics

Cognitive linguistics堅有潛力

尤其是量化嗰啲真係無得輸 好似Stefan Th Gries
