The British Army provides subsidised housing for soldiers -

http://www.army.mod.uk/welfare-support/23201.aspx

It is very likely that you will stay in barracks during your time in the British Army. You would not likely to have your own home ( 屋企) due to -

1) Cost
2) The need of you to move around with your job

同埋知唔知薪金待遇

British Army -

http://www.army.mod.uk/join/Careers-in-the-Army.aspx

Under the 'Pay and Pension' section, it stated that a basic soldier gets £18,488 per year and a corporal (下士) gets £29,768 per year.

人工唔高。。。
仲洗唔洗交稅?

Yes - you will need to pay tax. However, your accommodation and food are subsidised.

The most important point is that you can get British Citizenship after 5 years of services in the British Armed Forces.

According to the British Army website -

The Army’s target is for all soldiers to have attained at least Level 1 (GCSE Grade D-G equivalent) L&N standards, ideally, within three years of joining the Service.

http://www.army.mod.uk/training_education/25234.aspx

Do you think your English is good enough to get a grade D in GCSE English?

The first question is whether your future wife supports your idea of joining the British Army? If the answer is yes, then things are a lot easier.

First of all, have a look at the link below for some basic information -

http://www.army.mod.uk/documents/general/Meet_the_Army.pdf

I would suggest you joined the British Army first, with your future wife getting an UK working holiday visa to stay in the UK. As the working holiday visa is valid for 2 years, you can wait until you settle down in Army life before getting long term residence for your future wife.

In terms of UK immigration, it would be a lot easier if you are married to a member of the Armed Forces. Get married in the UK and have a look at the UK immigration rules (276AD & 276AE) in the link below -

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-part-7-other-categories#pt7hmforces

If your girlfriend holds a BN(O) passport and below the age of 31, she can apply for an UK working holiday visa at anytime. On the other hand, if she only holds a HKSAR passport, the next round of application will start in 2018.

If she holds both BN(O) and HKSAR passports, I would suggest that she go and apply for her UK working holiday visa using her BN(O) passport.

Trying to import a dog to the UK is very difficult. At lease Hong Kong, unlike China, is a 'listed country'. This means it is easier to do so -

All I would say is that if this is what you wanted to do, then do it.

People joined the Army for a number of reasons and here is a list I can think of -

1) Offers people with little or no qualifications a job with regular income

2) You can learn a trade in the Army (like electrician 電工 )

3) Get British Citizenship after 5 years

4) Going to different places around the world

All I would say is stay in the Army until you archived what you were looking for when you first joined.

One more note - in the UK, a Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system is used to collect income tax and National Insurance contribution from employees. This means that you can spend every penny you earned from your job, as taxes has already been paid.
