I may appply it after 2019 because of personal issue

Don't think it will, however, you need to note that -

1) Age limit at 33 years old
2) You will need to pass security clearance

"British National (Overseas) passport holders are eligible to join the British Army. They are therefore not subject to the same residency rules that apply to citizens of the Commonwealth."

I am interested to know where does the letter said that you need to live in the UK for five years before you can join the British Army. Would be very grateful if you can point it out for me.

As a BN(O) passport in itself does not have the right to work in the UK, this means that only BN(O) passport holders with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or right of abode in the UK will be able to apply for UK civil service posts.

On the other hand, members of the British Armed Forces who are subject to UK service law are exempted from UK immigration control.

Under the 'Do you need GCSEs to join the Army?'

To join the Army as a soldier you don't normally need GCSEs. There are a few exceptions though, for example, you may need GCSEs for some technical roles. For all roles in the Army, you'll need to pass the Army entrance tests.

If you want to be combat soldier, it is not likely that you will need any qualifications. On the other hand, if you want to learn a trade like engineering, you will be expected to have some qualifications.
