Some flashbulb memories are accurate, but others are prone to the kinds of distortion we see in others forms of long-term memory (Berntsen & Thomsen, 2005; as cited at Nevid, 2012). A study of flashbulb memories of 911 showed that they were not any more accurate than ordinary memories (Talarico & Rubin, 2003; as cites at Nevid, 2012).
