Siren's Strand

The Clash avalanche has been temporarily removed due to a bug that caused it to continue damaging players after coming to a full stop. It will return to its glacial glory in a future update.

Updated Penalties and How They Work

We've recently updated our reconnect/penalty system and how it works. Here is the basic outline:

-Increased match reconnect and AFK times from 90s to 2 minutes. It seems that players didn't have quite enough time to get back into a match. Reconnecting during this time should let you receive no penalty as well as receive full rewards at match end.

-Match_AFK and Match_Left penalties stack together. They start out light, but build up to a 1 day penalty if enough penalties are accrued (5 tiers - 0 , 30m , 1h, 2h, 1d). We are going to modify this to (7 tiers - 0 , 30m, 1h, 1.5h, 2h, 2.5h, 1d)

-After a week, your Match_Left/AFK penalty stack count is reduced by 1. Players in good standing go weeks without getting this penalty, and it should be easy for them to drop back down to 0.
Match_Left is tallied up at the end of a match, so if the penalty timer doesn't start right away, the match you were in hasn't wrapped up yet. Penalty time will be added at the end of the match, however.

-If you decline to reconnect to a match, you should receive a flat 5 minute penalty (this is currently 10 minutes but will change to 5). If you have no Match_Left penalties stacked but decline to reconnect to the match, the 5 minute penalty is all you will get. If you've left multiple matches recently, declining to reconnect will give a 5 minute penalty followed by the additional match_left penalty time whenever the match you were in finishes.

-If you've received a reconnect message, you should be able to rejoin within those two minutes and get full rewards and no penalty. If this is not the case, I'd love to hear about it so we can investigate the issue.

-In the future, you should be able to leave the match safely without penalty after a leaver has been gone for 2 minutes. This used to go into effect if the team went down to three players, and there seems to be a bug with having it go into effect with four players. We're currently investigating this, and players should be able to exit the match without penalty if your team goes down to four players at some point in the future.
