湯姆霍蘭德被《Star》周刊爆出猛烈追求瑪莉莎托梅，儘管兩人相差31歲，他還是不斷邀約，讓梅莉莎托梅有些尷尬，甚至表態「我能當你媽媽了！」可湯姆霍蘭德仍十分積極，反而是梅莉莎托梅有些反感，就怕外界誤以為兩人有什麼。

不過湯姆霍蘭德的發言人隨後否認這項說法，透露他相當尊重梅莉莎托梅，強調兩人雖人互動頻繁，但絕對沒有追求意思。
