Air Belgium secures AOC, preps for launch

Air Belgium (ABB, Brussels Charleroi) has announced it has secured its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Belgian civil aviation authority (Direction Générale Transport Aérien - DGTA).

The start-up plans to commence commercial flights between Brussels Charleroi and Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok in mid-April with ticket sales to open shortly.

Air Belgium is a privately funded operation and has secured four ex-Finnair A340-300s for its needs. Aside from Hong Kong, Air Belgium will add six other destinations on the Chinese mainland by May 2018.
