Qorvo (NASDAQ:QRVO) reported quarterly earnings of $2.74 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.43 by 12.76%
This is a 74.52 % increase over earnings of $1.57 per share from the same period last year.
The company reported quarterly sales of $1.07 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.04 billion by 3.17%. This is a 36.21% increase over sales of $787.77 million the same period last year.

Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX) reported quarterly earnings of $0.82 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.71 by 15.49%. This is a 5.13 % increase over earnings of $0.78 per share from the same period last year.
The company reported quarterly sales of $851.00 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $817.81 million by 4.06%. This is a 12.54% increase over sales of $756.17 million the same period last year.

路透5月6日 - 數十年來，每一代電腦芯片的速度越來越快且更加省電，因為其最基本元素--電晶體變得越來越小。

相關製程改善的速度已經放緩，不過國際商業機器(IBM) 週四表示，至少還可以向前推進一代。

IBM發表2奈米芯片製造技術，聲稱這是世界首創。該公司表示，技術可以使芯片速度比今日許多筆記本電腦及手機所使用的主流7奈米芯片提升多達45%，能源效率提高多達75%。

這項技術要投入市場可能將花上數年時間。IBM曾經是主要的芯片製造商之一，如今已經把量產芯片工作委託給三星電子 ，但仍保有紐約州奧爾巴尼的芯片製造研發中心，該廠進行芯片試產，IBM也與三星和英特爾 簽訂聯合技術開發協議，兩家公司可以使用IBM的芯片製造技術。

比起當前最尖端的5奈米芯片，2奈米芯片的體積會更小、速度也會更快；目前5奈米芯片只用在蘋果 iPhone 12等高端手機，而5奈米之後的下一個技術節點料為3奈米。
