My Bloody Valentine are on their North American tour as we speak and have been playing a couple new songs amongst favorites like “Soon,” “Honey Power” and “You Made Me Realise.” They first played “New Song 1″ at Meltdown in London, and the other, so far known as “New Song 2,” has been played at shows in Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles and St. Paul, MN. “New Song 1″ is more of a roaring ripper while the second new one is in 3/4 time and showcases MBV’s beautiful side. You can watch video of both (“New Song 1″ in LA; “New Song 2″ in Oakland [via CoS]) and check out setlists (via setlist.fm), below.
Main man Kevin Shields is still saying there are two MBV EPs coming this year with a mini-LP due in 2019. “I just want to get stuff out and see what happens,” Shields told SF Weekly ahead of the Oakland shows. “I wanted to work on instinct and not worry too much about being conceptual, because I knew that would probably take too long.”
