LONDON (October 10, 2024) AECOM and WW+P have been appointed by Transport for London (TfL) to deliver the feasibility study on four new stations as part of the Bakerloo Line Extension project.
Work on the feasibility study will be carried out over the next eight months, with the four new stations – Burgess Park, Old Kent Road, New Cross Gate, Lewisham – expected to be operational by 2040 according to TfL, subject to planning and funding approval. WW+P, which is lead architect for the project, will focus the design aspects of the study. AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, will be responsible for all engineering matters, including civil, structural, mechanical and geotechnical engineering, as well as stakeholder engagement and consent.

The line was officially inaugurated by Nigerian president, Mr Bola Tinubu, in February. Trials on the line began in July using a second-hand diesel HST train purchased by FMIL from Romic, Britain, consisting of two class 43 power cars and five Mk 3 coaches. The trains were manufactured by British Rail Engineering (BREL) from 1975 to 1982 and two are currently operating the service, initially in a four coach, two-power can consist.
FMIL is responsible for maintenance of the trains, with Romic providing remote assistance after having undertaken initial training for FMIL. Seven ex-British Rail (BR) class 47 locomotives and one coach remain in reserve to support the future expansion of service, Romic told IRJ.
LAMATA has also purchased two Talgo VIII trains which were originally built in 2009 for the Amtrak Hiawatha service in Wisconsin but never entered service. Reports suggest that these trains have yet to begin operating on the Red Line.

初步得出

Early evidence suggests that the collision occurred at around 15 mph.

The initial inspection of the track showed evidence of low rail adhesion, suggesting the train may have been wheel sliding when braking but this is subject to an ongoing investigation.
