I think your information is more up to date than mine.
My Big 8 (used to be Big 8) experience was 40 years ago.
I remembered I was expected to work a lot over unpaid over time.
There were 7am to 11pm days during busy season. I joined the Govt after I got my Ontario CA. My work hours were 9 am to 4pm (travel to and from taxpayer's office are considered working time). My working hours became 10 am to 3pm after 15 years, 10 am to 2pm after 20 years then 10am to 1pm after 25 years. I was allow to work from home thanks to internet and cell phone. The last couple of years before I retired, I worked about 2 hours a day. I had to take calls from my staff from 9am to 4pm.
Some of my taxpayer are located near my favourite fish spot. On one occasion, I went fishing during lunch time at an nearby lake (Simcoe). I was dragged into the lake by a monster pike and was wet from waist down. I had to wait 2 hours for water to drip from my pants.
I almost dropped my cell phone a few times when fish hit while I was talking with my staff was fishing on my boat.
