I studied in Belfast before and I have seen people protesting at the city hall, what do you think is different in terms of how Hong Kong people protest and Northern Irish protest?

Because they always read the news from Wechat, weibo, and media from mainland ONLY!! They seldom get the info from international media, just like those mainlander in Hong Kong, always get the news of HONG KONG from WeChat and mainland media.......sigh.....

Agree. I have some Chinese students work under me. They are pretty ignorant on what is going on in HK. Sometimes you just have to teach them now to read the news from the state-owned media "correctly", but usually I prefer to set politics aside and just to let them feel the differences between a HK leader and a CN leader.

In fact, the mindset that they are carrying is significantly impacting their way of working. Since they are not really able to distinguish between facts and rumors, it is horrible to just to "fix" their mindset for simply their work......
