According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport, two defenders will most likely leave the Rossoneri this summer, despite both of them being expected to start against Bologna on Monday.
Ignazio Abate and Cristian Zapata are the players in question, both of which have been at the club for a very long time. However, now seems to be the time for both of them to move on, with Milan having no intentions to renew their deals.
As you might have figured out by this point, both are sitting on expiring contracts, making them free agents this summer. The newspaper claims that Milan have decided not to renew the deals, although there seemed to be a possibility for both players previously.
In other words, the game against Bologna could possibly be their last in the Milan shirt, depending on how Gattuso decides to line up in the remaining three games (with both Calabria and Conti injured, Abate should play more).
