I read quite a few of your work, nice try but u r presenting data, not analysing.

u touched on the China story which is interesting but no analysis there. think about y new world wanna privatized their department store before and there is a lot u can write.

don't just show the cash flows, but try to think where the investment cash flows has gone to and why.

I already said too much but there is a lot u can write about this company....really a lot...

Analysis with depth is very demanding

I shall do the China part in the next analysis of a listed department store in China.

And I have tried actually but found very limited resource online that could help contribute to my skills in analysing the annual report. Like the cash flow problem that you mentioned. I have studied accounting but it mostly involve the preparation of statements, very few involve in-depth interpretation.

And also, I have also look into the valuation and analysis of stocks by reading value investing books. But it mostly involve the philosophy behind instead of concrete methodology in analysing it’s prospect and growth and a firm’s fundamentals.

Do you have any suggestion?

this stock got no liquidity....just 2000 shares today...it is too small even today is only a half day

build a simple model in excel. understand what is driving the cost, gross and operating margin and how it impacts the bottom line. u already got the rev trend, u didn't spot anything?

not sure how much u can get from yahoo or Google finance to be frank. annual report got quite a bit of data u just need to type it in.

It can be observed that the revenue is still slowly increasing but the profit don’t follow. And most recently it is its China business that drive the company’s profits.

And I did have a excel spreadsheet I won’t call it a model, but it helps fasten my process in generating all the graph and giving me the ratios. I have been constantly updating the spreadsheet to include more areas but it’s usefulness is still very limited to me

is better for u to spend sometime and build at least the income statement in excel.u can google how to build a model. then u can see the interaction between all the rev cogs operating expense depreciation etc to gross operating pbt and net profit. better u spend the time on those which u can analyse than doing presentation on some data
