the $1000 will be part of your total contributed amount. you can use it any year as long as you have contrubtion room to use the deduction.
e.g.
2024 $8,000 contributed - per 2023 CRA assessment
2024 $1000 overcontributed
2025 first 60 days $5,000 contributed
assume you have earned enough contribution room during 2024. (of course you do)
2024 T1 - you can deduct up to $8,000
balance $1,000 over contributed
first 60 days 5,000
carry forward 6,000 you can use this in fuiture years
when you receive your 2024 CRA assessment, if your RRSP room is say $13,000. you can contribute another $7.,000 + $2,000 over contribution without any penalty
