Sergio Romero 6.5 – Pushed Tammy Abraham’s drive over the bar in the second half before making a superb point-blanc save from Leroy Fer in injury time to secure another clean sheet.
Matteo Darmian 7 – Organised, compact and disciplined from the very start. Never looked unhinged or out of position and supplied a superb assist for Jesse Lingard.
Victor Lindelof 5.5 – This was a superb chance to abate some of the noise swirling around his name over the last few days but the Swede didn’t take it. Produced a couple of unconvincing swats at the ball in the first half and generally failed to offer much assurance.
Chris Smalling 7 – A solid captain’s performance from the Englishman, taking control of the back three and largely nullifying the hosts throughout.
Axel Tuanzebe 7 – Could have possibly gave away a penalty in the first half but rapidly grew into the game, defending with confidence and playing an important part in the build-up to Manchester United’s second.
Daley Blind 6.5 – Delivery was once again not up to scratch but the Dutchman comfortably dealt with Wayne Routledge throughout.
Ander Herrera 7 – A much improved performance from the Spaniard compared to the confused display seen last weekend. Positioned himself well and prevented Swansea from creating much momentum.
Scott McTominay 7 – The Scot was a breath of fresh air in midfield: a wonderfully easy on the eye, progressive display on the ball. Could have grabbed himself a goal with some better decision making in the final third.
Jesse Lingard 7.5 – Produced a scintillating display at No.10, cleverly ghosting into space for his first goal before killing the game completely with a sublime second half header.
Anthony Martial 6.5 – Didn’t receive too many touches in the box but looked effortlessly superior on the ball. Spent most of the evening on the floor, with the hosts, unable to pick apart his slickness in possession, resorting to kicking lumps out of him instead.
Marcus Rashford 7 – His good friend Jesse may have grabbed the goals and headlines, but this was an attacking display led by the ebullient 19-year-old. Produced a beautiful assist in the first half and brought the ball forward with intent.
