這次的舞台是「大海」，最新的研究揭開了一個被「巨龍」統治的史前水世界。這巨龍本來只是一種棲於陸地的小蜥蜴，可是當牠們被逼退到水中尋求活路後，最終卻演化成能擊敗恐龍的水中霸王。這一集將會把巨龍在海上的成功之路重現眼前，更會揭示牠們獨特的生育能力。

The stage is the "sea." Research has made headway into the world of the "gigantic dragon" that ruled the prehistoric seas. Originally small, land-dwelling lizards that were forced to try their luck in an unknown frontier, they evolved to become awesome killers, able to overpower even the mighty dinosaurs. This episode illustrates their journey to amazing success at sea, and also reveals their unique birthing ability.

史前系列：冰河巨獸

這輯記錄片將貼身追蹤古生物學家迪克．摩爾的探索之旅，尋找各項線索，追蹤對上一次冰河時期尾聲的巨型動物滅種事件。從各類動物骸骨、風化沙丘上的腳印、以至常年凍土區的古樹遺骸之中，研究員找到很多熟練獵人所留下的痕跡，同時也找到其獵物所遺下的線索，長毛象、洞熊、巨型樹懶都曾成為獵物。到底巨獸滅絕，是由古人類所導致，還是氣候急速變化才是元凶呢？

This documentary follows paleontologist Dick Mol on the hunt for clues to the mass extinction during the end of the last ice age. From ancient bone hoards to footprints in gypsum dune fields and permafrost tree remains, researchers find many traces of skilled human hunters – and their prey: mammoths, cave bears and giant sloths. Is it feasible that our ancestors brought these giants to extinction, or was it the rapidly changing climate?
