Beware of being conned in Europe -

Venice restaurant bill outrages Japanese tourists

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-42772609

The mayor of Venice has voiced outrage over the €1,100 (£970; $1,347) bill that four Japanese tourists say they had to pay for four steaks, a plate of fried fish, water and service.

The four students complained to police after getting the eye-watering bill at a restaurant near St Mark's Square.

Italian media did not name the restaurant, but said it was owned by a Chinese woman and run by an Egyptian.

The first question is what kind of visa you are planning to come to the UK with? Unless you are a British or EU citizen, you will need a visa to work in the UK.

Saw another interesting news article from BBC news -

Chinese staff paid in bricks to top up unpaid wages

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-42779898

Employees at a brick factory in southeast China who were collectively owed some 90,000 yuan (US $14,050; £10,080) had their unpaid wages topped up in bricks, it's reported.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, some 30 factory workers in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, agreed to receive 290,000 bricks in exchange for 80,000 yuan of their owed earnings.

Jiangxi Daily reports that the workers, all of whom were migrants, came from mountainous regions of Yunnan province in the southwest, and had no choice but to live "by candlelight, with wood fire heating".

After their local labour department intervened with the help of the courts, the employees agreed to receive bricks from the factory in exchange for their unpaid earnings.

Xinhua says that their employer, who has not been named by local media, is still trying to figure out a way to repay staff the remaining 10,000 yuan that they are owed.

im planning to renew my bno. Is it easier for me to apply for a work visa if i use bno rather than HKSAR passport?

If you are planning to come to the UK under the Tier 2 (General) visa, I would suggest you to get your visa using your BN(O) passport.

As a BN(O) passport holder, you will have a number of advantages over HKSAR passport holders in the UK -

1) BN(O) passport holders, being Commonwealth citizens, do not need to register with the local police in the UK. HKSAR passport holders do.

2) BN(O) passport holders can register to vote in all UK elections, this can help you to build up your own credit history in the UK. HKSAR passport holders cannot register to vote in any UK elections.

3) You can apply for UK civil service jobs open to Commonwealth citizens once you got Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) [永久居留]. HKSAR passport holders need to wait until they receive British Citizenship.

4) BN(O) passport holders can register for British Citizenship using form B(OTA) a year after having ILR. Registration is a cheaper process than naturalisation (£1163 for registration vs £1282 for naturalisation in 2017) . HKSAR passport holders can only naturalise to become a British Citizen.
