劉家傑早年開設facebook跟網民用英語互動，甚至出po指BBC用詞有問題。他亦曾與網民於YouTube有「互動」。有一名叫Paul的網友在YouTube留言咒劉家傑『老牌教英語老師！相信未死也聞到棺材味！』」劉家傑立刻也很「客氣」地留了下面這個精采的回應：
「Well done, Paul! Your hunch was spot on, though I wasn't so sure about the morbid metaphor. To use athletics as an analogy, I've been in a gruelling long distance event. Mercifully, the end is in sight. As for you, Paul, I do hope it's not a sprint you're running.」
