Estonian national team striker Henri Anier refuted rumors based on social media, as if his time at the Hong Kong champion club Lee Man was over.
Anier, who returned to Estonia yesterday for the start of the national team break, posted two stories on Instagram before leaving Hong Kong . "See you HK! It was an honor. Until next time," he wrote. Although the message may have seemed like a farewell to some overly active followers, Anier confirmed that it was certainly not yet when talking to journalists before the team's June window of games.
"See you again, absolutely! No goodbyes," Anier announced happily. "Negotiations are going on, but right now I'm focusing on the national team. It's been very busy days. They've already called me, but I said that I'm with the national team now and I'll definitely focus on the first game. Absolutely everything is open now."
At the moment, the negotiations are purely due to a lack of time - after the end of the season, Anier and the club have not yet had time together to settle the details. "We haven't just sat down yet, it's been very busy. The season just ended, there were ceremonies, I had to pack up my whole year," he explained.
How is the championship celebrated in Hong Kong anyway? "It was a very nice official dinner inside the club. It was the first time for me that the boss actually sang karaoke - rather a very modest man, but at that moment ... All the work he has invested there for seven years was very important for the entire club family," Anier explained.
"There are stories from all sides now, everything is still so fresh. In Asia, everyone knows what to expect from me, there are all kinds of countries," Anier explained the interest in his player rights so far. "But there are also options from Europe. At the moment, I'm happy to be back in my homeland. Fresh air, the temperature is so pleasantly cool. May there ... unbelievable, 40 degrees and you can't breathe at all. But I managed!"
