Bruce (Xiaoyu) Liu won 18th Chopin Competition!
The final auditions of the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition are over. The jury composed of 17 international personalities of the piano world chaired by Professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń awarded the following prizes and honourable mentions.
MAIN PRIZES:
1st Prize – Bruce (Xiaoyu) Liu
2nd Prize ex aequo – Alexander Gadjiev
2nd Prize ex aequo – Kyohei Sorita
3rd Prize – Martin Garcia Garcia
4th Prize ex aequo – Aimi Kobayashi
4th Prize ex aequo – Jakub Kuszlik
5th Prize – Leonora Armellini
6th Prize – J J Jun Li Bui
SPECIAL PRIZES:
The Polish Radio Prize for the best performance of mazurkas –Jakub Kuszlik
The Warsaw Philharmonic Prize for the best performance of a concerto – Martin Garcia Garcia
The Krystian Zimerman Prize for the best performance of a sonata – Alexander Gadjiev
