Hi chapstick
Would like to ask how u n the average Americans think abt the violence used by HK protesters? In HK, ppl who support the cause of the whole movement generally accept the protesters' use of violence, as it is directed at ppl who attack us n we hv to self-defense, n to cause dmg to companies (MTR, Maxim) who openly support or cooperate with the cops n govt. However, ppl r divided on whether violence will lead to the loss of international support; one side thinks that we need to stick with the non-violent approach if we wanna get international support, while the other thinks that the use of violence with principle (as mentioned above) is crucial in maintaining the momentum of the whole movement, n compared with other countries, the extent of violence we r now using is really not a big deal.
What are your thoughts on this? How do you think Americans will respond to our violence?
