Petition Letter
by a Group of British Citizens and British Nationals (Overseas) in Hong Kong

Your Excellency,

We are writing urgently to express our deepest concern for the extradition law being recently put forward by the government of Hong Kong.

It is obvious that this extradition law would compromise Hong Kong’s high degree of autonomy and its independence of jurisdiction on which Hong Kong’s success depends as it would allow communist China to bypass Hong Kong’s legal system to detain whoever in Hong Kong Beijing find “necessary”, including thousands of British Citizens and British Nationals in the region.

This is also a fundamental breach of the Sino-British Joint Declaration and the One Country Two Systems enshrined in the Basic Laws. 仲打緊
