德國中場奧斯爾（Mesut Ozil）自2013年加盟阿仙奴後，一直都穿上11號波衫，對於今次轉為傳統進攻中場的代號「10號仔」，他便說：「這個號碼對我來說是十分特別，這亦非什麼秘密。我的童年偶像施丹便是穿着這個號碼，它仍然是中場組織球員最有代表性的號碼。我很期待夏天休息後，首次為阿仙奴穿上10號波衫！」奧斯爾於今年一月才和阿仙奴續約至2021年，周薪為35萬鎊。

阿仙奴對上一名10號球衣的主人便是英格蘭中場韋舒亞，作為球隊青訓他於2012年接過離隊的荷蘭射手尹佩斯繼承了10號，當時他只是20歲。雖然這幾年內他曾經外借到般尼茅夫，惟阿仙奴一直都保留10號，直至今個夏天韋舒亞宣布離隊轉投費倫巴治。
