Formerly in the care of Clinton McDonald, Mugen broke his maiden at Melbourne's tight-turning track before making his way to Pierre Ng's stable.
The lightly raced gelding has won three times this season in his current home and Ng is now aiming high with the chestnut galloper, suggesting that a tilt at the Group 1 Manikato Stakes on AFL Grand Final Eve could be on the cards after Sunday's Champions Day meeting at Sha Tin.
