- 日本電影《Godzilla Minus One》、《蒼鷺與少年》係美國票房口碑豐收，前者有機會成為第一部提名最佳視覺效果嘅日本電影，後者除咗係最佳動畫大熱，亦有機會為久石讓帶嚟第一個奧斯卡提名，另外《鈴芽之旅》亦係今屆最佳動畫提名熱門之一
- 最佳導演除咗Nolan同Scorses提名穩陣外, 基本上係Yorgos Lanthimos, Greta Gerwig, Jonathan Glazer, Alexander Payne, Justine Triet 五爭三, 而新導演Cord Jefferson, Celine Song都有機會爆冷入圍, 就連Bradley Cooper係BAFTA都有提名, 競爭激烈
- 最佳真人短片難得有名導Wes Anderson, Pedro Almodovar入圍shortlist

今屆動畫獎係難估, 因為真係爭崩頭, 除咗宮崎駿同蜘蛛俠係穩陣, 其餘計埋robot dreams, 忍者龜, chicken run 2, nimona都係annie awards或者bafta呢啲前哨有提及
