美軍駐伊拉克北部一個軍事基地遭到火箭炮襲擊，一名聯軍承包商死亡，另外最少8人受傷，包括一名美軍，一個據報與伊朗有聯繫的組織聲稱發動襲擊。

今次是近1年以來，駐伊拉克聯軍部隊受到最嚴重的襲擊。發言人表示，位於庫爾德地區首府埃爾比勒、以美軍為首的聯軍部隊受到襲擊。庫爾德方面的消息表示，當地星期一晚上至少有3枚火箭炮，落在埃爾比勒機場附近。

美國國務卿布林肯對襲擊感到憤怒，表示已經與當地官員接觸，討論事件，保證會調查並追究責任。
