As an Employee of "The Coffee Academics" (TCA) - 身為一個TCA員工
Our Shop has always been near the front lines of protests. Many times, even with the tear gas flying by right outside our shop, our supervisors and managers will not tell us to clock out. At these times, with all public transport shut down, the management still do nothing, waiting until the last minute until telling us to leave.
The management continues to live in their ivory tower, being far removed from any protests or anything happening on the streets for the matter. Even when they've been notified hours in advance of upcoming protests, they will still do nothing in consideration of the safety of their employees. They'll leave us out there in the cross fire, waiting until the last minute to close shop. All they care about is the money they can make that day. To them, we are disposable.
With many TCA shops in the middle of 'hot zones', every time we hear the tear gas being launched and the acrid odor that results from it, we know, we'll be on our own. The management simply does not care if we make it home or not.
