Buildzoid: Taking a look at Sapphire implementation of the 12VHPWR connector on the RX 9070 XT Nitro+

TLDR:
Sapphire uses the same flawed 12VHPWR connector design on their RX 9070 XT Nitro+. No current balancing. If 5 pins are making poor contact, the GPU will try pull all of the power through the remaining pin due to the lack of any safeties to prevent the pin overload.
The one design improvement over the high end Nvidia cards is a better fuse and power rail design so that in the event of a power stage failure on the board (which will cause a short circuit), the fuses will blow out to minimize damage to the board, rather than the memory/core being fried or the entire board catching on fire.
Buildzoid recommends getting the other Sapphire cards that don't use 12VHPWR.
