Jamie Kah has her best chance of securing her first Cox Plate after she was confirmed to ride super colt Broadsiding at 49.5 kilograms for the Godolphin team in Saturday week's $5 million feature.
Godolphin Australia's managing director Andy Makiv confirmed the booking on Tuesday morning, saying the stable is delighted to have a rider of Kah's quality to partner the three-time Group 1 winner.
"We're pleased to have booked Jamie as she's won on the horse, which is important, so we're hoping for a good outcome for both horse and rider," Makiv said.
"The Cox Plate has always been a bit of a target race for him. We hoped he'd get there through the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas. He won the first and then things didn't go his way at Caulfield.
"He's bounced out of the race. The way the race turned out, he didn't have an arduous run, so he goes into the Cox Plate third-up without a gut-buster and he goes into the race in great shape."
