I still think that in sex specific area (eg. changing room / toilet / breastfeeding room) , sex specific events (sport) still should have certain restrictions.

as far as i know black / white segregation or racism was originally a biological concept (which people truly believed that black people had inferior genes). however, it was proved to be false latter ?
now, the modern racism that we referred to is more like a kind of "cultural discrimination" rather than racism.

However, I think sex is a different story that the XY chromosomes genotype in most people can be determined. Also, for most people, the phenotype of sex match the sex chromosomes, which is a biological fact?
ofcourse there are special cases as you mentioned before.
