When you buy a perpetual license of Capture One, you receive a specific version of the software available at the moment of purchase. All the updates released to that particular version are included, like Capture One 16.1 and the updates 16.1.2 and 16.1.3.
When a new version is out you can continue using your version of Capture One, however, no new features, support for cameras or new operating systems will be added once a new version is released.
This also means that if you have purchased Capture One 16.1 after February 14 you are not eligible for a free version of Capture One 16.2. Your license key will only be able to activate the latest version of Capture One 16.1 (16.1.3).
If being up-to-date with Capture One is important for your workflow, consider a subscription model rather than a perpetual license. The subscription license guarantees you access to the latest version of Capture One with the newest features without any additional costs.
Finally, in case you need to update your perpetual license, check out what discount you can get based on our Loyalty Program.
