星期日，喺金鐘站英勇救人的兩位消防員宜家俾藍絲攻擊，要求炒佢。特別係其中一位消防員佢剛剛入職，未過probation！請大家用自己Email寫去消防處總部/灣仔消防局，讚揚呢個消防員盡忠職守，不分政見，拯救市民。

敬啟者：本人認為救傷扶危是消防人員的天職，也是最無可爭議的偉大工作。可是近日（9月29日）二名消防人員因為解救被困在金鐘地鐵站內的市民而飽受抨擊（被質疑幫助違法市民），欲加之罪，本人深感震驚！按理消防人員無法辨認被困市民曾否犯法，這並非消防職務，消防人員遇上市民被困，本分是應協助市民解困，至於拘捕疑犯，搜證調查乃係警務人員之工作。本人希望除向兩位消防人表達謝意！同時希望消防局不要因為政治壓力，扭曲消防員的守責行為。如此方不負社會對消防之期望！

To the Director of Fire Services Mr. Li Kin-yat,
With utmost respect, firefighters are some of the most selfless public servants our society has ever encountered. These real heroes are men who fall and fail and are flawed, but win out in the end because they’ve stayed true to their ideals and beliefs and commitments.
Unfortunately, two firemen were aggressively criticised after they rescued local citizens who were stuck in an MTR station on September 29, 2019. When it comes to saving lives, political views or personal beliefs should not interfere with the sacred act of rescuing. It’s not a fireman’s duty to determine whether or not the victim has or has not committed any crime prior to the rescue effort, a fireman should be there to help any victim regardless of his/her background.
It is my sincere hope that Hong Kong Fire Services Department will not succumb to political pressure and uphold the department’s mission to protect life of Hong Kong citizens, to save those in distress and protect the community. Rest assured that you and your department will continue to be recognised and supported by the majority of the general public if you can defend these 2 selfless firefighters and uphold the department's mission.
