Concerning a recent conflict between students from Hong Kong and China in the University of Auckland

I have recently come across a video clip of the above incident. As a Hong Kong citizen, I found it worrying as I know that there are a number of Hong Kong students studying in New Zealand and I would hate to see them to be the next victims.
In the incident, a group of international students from Hong Kong were trying to express their views on the recent protests in HK in a very peaceful manner. They put some post-its on a wall. Yet 3 Chinese male students came and started to call names. They called the girl “a stupid pig”, called British people “Dogs” (at 4:38) and even tried to assault the said girl later on.
I know that New Zealand has a very diverse culture and kiwis are very peaceful people. Everyone should have their rights to express their political views and no one should be mistreated like this in New Zealand.
I have no intention in interfering with the University’s affairs, but I would hope the University to respond in a proactive manner to discourage such behaviour.
Cheers,
