Corriere dello Sport today reported the latest developments regarding Cagliari midfielder Nicolò Barella.On Thursday, Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Ausilio had lunch with Rossoblu president Tommaso Giulini.There was more talk of synergies between the clubs, with particular given to youth operations and of course the Italian international.Cagliari do not intend to sell Barella now in January, and Inter believe the asking price of €50 million from the Sardinians is too high in any case.The two teams may return to the table for further discussions in the future, but Barella is not a priority for Inter at this moment, or at least not for the proposed figures.It is confirmed, however, that the Sardinian talent has said no to Napoli, with Inter therefore remaining the favourites for his signature.Barella, 21, has garnered plenty of interest this January, mainly from Chelsea and Napoli, and will more than likely leave Cagliari in the summer.
