美國國務院近日向國會提交報告，報告披露美國政府曾向港府提出要求，引渡一名逃犯，惟特首林鄭月娥在去年10月應中央政府要求拒絕有關引渡，更將逃犯移交中央政府看管。
《香港01》綜合各方消息，嘗試拼湊還原事件的來龍去脈，涉事罪犯為一名28歲澳門人，早年聯同另外兩名被告駭進兩個位於美國紐約的律師事務所內聯網，非法盜取逾300萬美元，其後在來港後被捕，掀起一場外交角力風波。
美國總領事館回覆《香港01》查詢表示，按照一般慣例，不會就正在調查中的個案細節作評論。
